Oakwood Learning Center opened in June of 1987, under the gudiance and ownership of Gwen Pirece. At the time, the name of the center was Oakwood Daycare, but during the mid 90's, the name was changed to the present Oakwood Learning Center.Over the last 24 years, hundreds of children have enter the doors of this center. Presently, we have children whose parents attended here when they were younger.
There have been many changes over the year. When the center first opened, there where no rooms in the upstairs. The rooms where separated by wall dividers. When Georgia began the Georgia Pre-K, Oakwood was among one of the first to have Pre-K classes. Ms Gwen owned and operated the center until July of 2010. She sold the center to Dr. Rob Skilling who is the current owner.
